Wednesday is done waiting.

So, this Tuesday went the same way as last Tuesday—well, with two distinct differences. This time the Bartender texted me the cancellation before I had already gotten ready. And the other difference is that I decided to call him.

Let’s just fast forward to the text I got from him at 3:13 AM.

K…WTF…35 calls from you? Fell asleep and woke up to find that.

Ok, now I’ll rewind.

So, on Saturday, the Bartender invited me over. Then on Sunday, he invited me back over for Tuesday night. I thought it was him trying to get back to normal—get back to our normal appointment schedule. I was wrong.

I knew it was going to happen—that’s why it pissed me off so much. Oh, and let’s not forget that it was done via text message…a text message that read, “I think I need to cancel tonight…worked outside and already need a nap.” So, I texted him back, “Thanks for letting me know.” I got nothing. He did not respond; he did not call me back.

I called him. I called him 5 minutes after I received the text. I got nothing.

I left a message. A message that stated that his text message wasn’t very clear as to if he was canceling or not; however, since he wasn’t answering my calls that I had come to the conclusion that he was canceling, but he should call me. Oh, I was stern.

I still got nothing.

So, I decided that I’d find something better to do instead. I decided that it was probably time to get in touch with the Couple. And I decided that I’d call the Bartender until he answered. Well, the Couple didn’t pan out the way I expected (the one got sick, and we didn’t end up having sexy times). But I did call the Bartender all the way there at 5 minute intervals, and also all the way home at 5 minute intervals (well, at least until I finally broke down and just kept calling).

I got a, “U there” at 2:31AM on Yahoo messenger. I’m guessing that’s before he saw the 35 missed calls; however, I don’t know. Then I got the text message at 3:13AM; however, I wasn’t awake, so I got both of them at around 8 this morning.

I texted him back.

I figured it was a repeat of last week…where you just left a cancel text that was very vague and then never called me back so I didn’t want to wait another week to find out...and it just hit me wrong when you didn’t answer the first time I called like 5 minutes after you texted.
And as of the publishing of this blog, I haven’t heard back. I haven’t called, nor texted, nor Yahoo! instant messaged. I’m done waiting. I’m done. It’s over.

I’m not going to lie; I wouldn’t mind some more closure with the situation (or rather, I’d really like the chance to explain that I’m really not crazy; the chance to explain that it was all fueled by anger, not insanity. I just lost my head briefly—crazy would have been me sitting in his driveway calling him 35 times with the caller id restricted); however, if I had the chance to do it all again, I would (well, the calling part anyway). I think those 35 unanswered calls set me free.
