I’ve been messing with my domain settings in order to create new “sub-domains” for Baking as Avoidance (baking.thegrandchahee.com is up and running--no www. needed) and Crochet as Avoidance (crochet.thegrandchahee.com--no www for this one either). And before you get all “well, you should post more and worry about that crap less”... Let’s just label this as, “Nerdy Computer Crap as Avoidance” (no, there won’t be a new sub-domain for that).
Anyway, it seems that some of my changes have affected the site in little ways and some have affected the site in other ways. One of the little changes (other than the new sub-domains), I’ve added a “favicon” (that’s the proper term for that little picture that appears in the browser’s address bar—it used to be the Blogger icon; now it’s a cat’s head); it worked pretty well as far as I can tell. One of the negative impacts my changes have brought to the site was that it wasn’t redirecting the naked domain (simply typing thegrandchahee.com into a browser wasn’t bringing up anything). I believe I have that fixed (and I just checked that—seems to be working fine).
Now, earlier today, I was checking on the site’s email settings; and I somehow disabled all thegrandchahee.com email addresses. This only really affects the very few people who have asked or been given a Chahee email address (the Chahee email login at the top is for those people). CB2, Dr. Sexy, Ambie, and I are the only ones in possession of these emails (and Ambie hasn’t logged into hers since 2009). I seemed to have also got those fixed as well (and if my tests were correct, any emails that were to be delivered to any address or an alternate set up for those emails have since been delivered—so no lost emails).
My point in all of this is that if something is amiss, please let me know! When I change something, I usually try to post it in the Site Updates section at the top—if there’s a problem I can’t fix, I will post it there—so again if it’s not listed, I probably don’t know it’s broken. I really do try my hardest to make this the best theGrandChahee.com I possibly can!
If you’d like to report an issue, those of you who have my number text me (CB2 pointed out that it wasn’t redirecting correctly, and I got it fixed with in like 10 min), email me at chahee@thegrandchahee.com, or leave something in the comments (those forward to an external email).

Baking as avoidance is now at baking.thegrandchahee.com
Baking As Avoidance (located at bakingasavoidance.blogspot.com) is now up and running with my first recipe. Very soon (48 hours I'm told) it should be hosted at baking.thegrandchahee.com...but we'll see if I got all the nerdy computer crap correct or not.

The site now has a mobile version optimized for cell phones!

Yes, I changed the “background”. Yes, I changed my Twitter. Yes, feel free to email me if you believe this to be a change for the worse; I didn’t actually look at it on anything other than my desktop computer (twitter is a little funny looking, but this looked fine).
Yes, I had that background on my phone for a long time. Yes, I took it with my phone. Yes, it’s siding from C(B1)C’s house. Yes, this is the third (and final) update from today.

Minor updates to the twitter feed, links page, and contact page (you can now add me on your BlackBerry Instant Messenger).

Just fixed a bug with the layout in Firefox browser (thank you D(W)F for pointing it out!). The site no longer displays that weird string of text above the “banner”.
Everything still looks as it should in Internet Explorer 8, as well as, the Opera browser.
BlackBerry browser 5.0 (BlackBerry Bold 9700 browsers) still displays the top menu bar funny (the images aren’t spacing right which makes the text almost invisible); however, it looks better with Opera Mini 5.0 (the menu bar is there, the spacing is a little off). I’m not sure how to set up a special “mobile version” of the site; so I’m sorry, but I don’t think I’ll be able to fix that.
To get Opera Mini 5.0, go to m.opera.com from your mobile browser.
I'm still updating the pages with new features (such as a pages set up for site updates, about, contact info, etc...no more displaying labels for things).

I fixed my profile (it should display now). I updated my links (there were some that disappeared with the transition). And I just renewed my domain registration.

I did a whole bunch of nerdy computer crap over the past couple days. I’ve learned a lot more about html and css than I ever wanted to. Having said that, I now know pretty much what everything does behind the scenes here.
I basically started from scratch (with the code). I’ve even updated the look of the twitter feed. The menu across the top was a part of what prompted the whole thing. It turned out being quite a challenge, but a lot of fun.
I’ve only tested it on Internet Explorer and the BlackBerry browser (BlackBerry displays the top link menu kinda funny--sorry). If you find any bugs…let me know. Email admin@thegrandchahee.com to report any issues (please and thank you).
I hope you like the new look as much as I do!

File this one under “Stuff you never wanted to know”… Websites are finicky creatures (at least mine is). Inexplicably, TheGrandChahee.com went down Monday night (I’m not sure as to when exactly because no one told me—side eye to my “super fans”). Hopefully, you’re all happy (grateful) the website came back up (I know I am)…
No, I don’t know what happened; and I’m not quite sure how it got fixed (I did a whole lot of nerdy computer crap involving “CNAME records” and “DNS settings” with my “Domain host”—I have absolutely no idea what those are, but I can follow instructions well). I just hope it never happens again…
Seriously, you don’t know how much you miss something until it’s gone (no this is not an analogy for a man).
So, that’s that! In my panic (yes, I almost lost my cool), I may have told people that didn’t know before that I have a blog. It’s not really a super-secret thing…I just enjoy my privacy. Hell, maybe I’ll actually get readers that will email me when the site goes down (seriously, I think it happened in the middle of the night…and there are like only 2 of you out there anyway that read regularly enough to even notice).
Now, I can get back to men (yeah, right)…

Tuesday is down. And not in a good way. I hate nerdy computer crap; however, I've been steeped in it for a few days now. TheGrandChahee.com is down for some reason (still as unknown to me), and I'm not sure what to do to get it back going. I've got some online resources that I'm trying; however, I'm not that confident in my own abilities...
Stay Tuned!

I’ve made some updates to the appearance of the site. I hope you like it (no really I do). The Logo is on the side (something I’ve been wanting to try for a while), and I updated the background. Ah, and check out the links at the top and bottom.
It’s a little bit cleaner…
Let me know if you like it!
If you’re having troubles reading it on your BlackBerry (I know I’ve got a few reader that do browse on the go)… Just try reloading. It wasn’t loading immediately; and then I just reloaded, and the page loaded just fine!

Thursday has dropped the Gazette. Well, what can I say? It didn’t really make sense…I’m sure this isn’t going to be a surprise to all of you; however, I’m not really a “news source”.
Other than that, I’m sure that none of you actually noticed that I changed the color of the blog post titles and the side bar headings.
I’m still working on changing the look and feel of the entire blog, but it’s slow going…
If you like it (or even if you don’t)—got a comment or a suggestion—The Chahee is here for you… email me at

Thursday is having technical problems. Yep, as I’ve moved to thegrandchahee.com, I’ve been messing with the look. Some stuff disappears, some stuff appears wrong; however, rest assured, I’m going to iron it all out; and we’ll all have a new better Grand Chahee Gazette.
If you've noticed something that's gone terribly awry, please email me at chahee@thegrandchahee.com.
Hopefully, it won't be as painful as I think it's going to be!

*Ok, if any of you have been on with in the last hour, you've noticed things bouncing around. I'm back to the old template until I get the kinks worked out of the new one...
For some reason my links List keeps dissapearing. No clue as to why. But hey, I'll put it back up when I'm finished with everthing.

Monday has some really awesome site news. To those of you who have already noticed (Whiskey Marie, I’m mostly talking to you), I’ve been doing some updates to The Grand Chahee.
Friday: It went online at www.thegrandchahee.com (feel free to update your links—or add one, you know I’m worth it).
Saturday: Did some tweaking to the over all look: The back ground and colors have been changed (I’m still playing with those though), the blogger navi-bar has been removed, and the blog has been enhanced to 1024X800 resolution screens (if you’re on a smaller 800X600 resolution, it’s still all there; however, it doesn’t look as cool.
Sunday: Updated the header image.
It’s definitely a work-in-progress, but I think I’ll get there.
If something’s not working, or if something looks a little weird—feel free to email me at biggayvince (at) hotmail.com.
